From the Front

Dad woke up and got himself to breakfast and was reading the paper when Trish arrived to check on him this morning. He is noticeably weaker and had no memory of sleeping all day and night yesterday. Day by day.

Speaking of day-by-day, that is going around in my world right now. We are also waiting for the new baby. Alison and Jason went to the Dr today and she is dilated a very little. Blood work will be done and if no baby has arrived by Monday, December 15,
she will go in that morning to be induced.

I am also waiting to see what will happen with the sore throat, earache and swollen glands which have decided to happen to me in the last few hours. Too much hugging and kissing at the party last week. See, I knew there was a good reason to avoid parties....LOL.
I have a dinner date with a girlfriend in Hyannis tonight and then it will be rest time.

hi
thank you for commenting on my blog, i dont get many, so when i do i get very happy about it!
i started reading your blog tonight too.... good luck with your dad. it is so hard when we become the caregivers to our parents. my mom is still living alone but has had a heart attack and several stents... so i am the 'nurse' daughter who takes care of doc visits and pill boxes etc. so i kind of understand what you are feeling.
thanks for reading and commenting. hope to talk again soon.

Nice to hear from you, Amy. The caregiving for my parents has been a huge part of my life for 30 years and I am a bit fearful of what will happen to me when my Dad passes. He has kidney failure but beautiful strong spirit. He never complains and is peaceful for which I am grateful.
I hope your mother lives fairly close. The driving through the years has worn me down a lot and of late I have had to limit trips (2 hrs each way) what with gas prices and other obligations.
Look foreard to hearing more from you.
