S & S

Now that the beautiful post-hurricane air has re-energized my mind, I'm wanting to catch up with some recent fun times....
A great evening and dinner was enjoyed with daughter, Sara and granddaughter, Samantha.
Samantha is growing so fast and more beautiful everyday....she's a great conversationalist, as well!

We are looking forward to Labor Day weekend this week. It will include some delicious alone time with my LM, a visit with best friend, Sue to consult on a new quilting project, and at some point, I will share some rare alone time with LM's daughter, Meg. She is having a milestone week with today being the first day of nursing school. You have no idea how hard she has worked, and the odds she has faced, to get to this point at 27 yrs of age! It has been a very hard row for her to hoe and she has made it to the first day. This afternoon I received a very excited phone call from her as she told me about the first day and the excitement of learning. Love it!
More catch-up posts to come!
Love to all.....
PS. Do stop by at Happy Days to see the progress on Debbie and Barney's quilt. She is doing a wonderful job, and Barney's help is felinity (new word) at its best!

I dropped off the planet to write a Christmas story to upload to Amazon soon. Sorry, sorry ... and I feel guilty about not being around in a bit ... (I do guilt very well *sighs*)

Holy cow but Samatha has grown up -- OMG! She's gorgeous!

Happy there's another quilt in your future!

Happy Irene left you in peace - we had a bit of earthquake damage (non-structural) - but, life goes on - I'm lovin' these gorgeous days!

Have a great weekend!

Wow! Samantha is really growing up!She reminds me of Reilly. Dark hair and a cute little smile! Congratulations to Meg, I'm sure she'd dreamed of this day for a long time!! I hope she does great and continues to love nursing. I bet she will have a lot of compassion for her patients. I only did a few hours of cutting out the small squares yesterday. My back and neck were still achey. I did an hour and a half in the morning and the same in the afternoon. Am getting big piles of sauares. Today I think I'm going to take them into the living room and try to match up squares and put them together so they'll be ready to sew. Need to make another page of notes so I won't get them mixed up and number them. So much to do when quilting isn't there!! lol...debbie

I too have been following Debbie's progress on her quilt and the help you are giving her, so thought I would hop over and catch up with you. Your granddaughter looks like a real sweetheart. I'm glad you came through Irene safely. The news we've seen of the damage is heartbreaking. We have a trip planned in October for Pennsylvania and Rochester NY to visit my grandson at college, and then up into Maine. We're very flexible when we're traveling and we'll have to see how conditions are by then.
