Where the Dogs Are...

Listening to the oldies on womr.org, putting away laundry, weeding out winter clothes, and playing with the dogs this morning. That's right, I am dog sitting for my boss again. They've gone to San Francisco for 5 days, and last night was the first night....so tired I could hardly move, and we had an early night. LM was at home preparing for a huge fishing tackle yard sale he's running today in Hyannis. Dogs were good until barking commenced at 4:15 am....I'd half-expected that despite the fact that I'd been told that behavior was pretty much over. They left me with a water pistol to shoot at them when the barking occurs, but I was wide awake, thus, all I've accomplished this morning.

It is such a beautiful day....as I did yoga this morning, I was watching the tops of the trees lit by the sunrise and felt so inspired to just make this my own lovely, happy day. Never fear, this is not Pollyanna over here, I've just been low, and know I do have the power to smile or not!
Hopefully, there will be time with Sara and Samantha, and the purchase of pansies, as well as visiting a local farm to see baby lambs. Maybe there will even be a donkey to see!

LM and I may go to see the new version of "Jane Eyre" tonight. It's showing at the theater where we had our first date....we love going back in time a bit and will even meet in our own cars as we did that first time. I'll get back with a report on the movie.

My shoulder is hurting me terribly again....I'm doing all the recommended stretches, etc, but it is persistent. It is only 5 weeks and the doctor said yesterday that I can expect it to take as much as a month longer.
That's my weekend so far......hope you will all have a nice one, too.

It's nice to know we're listening to the same oldies at the same time! My David had to work today, in your town, so I'm home with my dogs. I too have plans to plant pansies today. They've been on the deck all week, alternating freezing and thawing, still blooming beautifully...tough little pansies. Enjoy your lovely, happy Saturday!

Hi Janet....don't you just love WOMR??? I listen to all of it....Captain frank is gone now on Tuesdays...will miss him. Love Thurs evenings, too, and Fri evening with Lady Di!
Good luck getting the pansies out. Love their smiling faces to greet the chilly mornings.

Things seem to take so long to heal--must have something to do with age I think? Have a wonderful date night.

It sounds like you have a great day planned. I'm sorry the dogs woke you so early. I hope that doesn't happen again.

Plant those pansies and have a great date night. I'll be interested in hearing about the movie.

Marcia, for $49.00 you can go to the drug store and buy a gizmo that goes off when the dogs bark. Humans can't hear it. Only dogs. Our friends got one about 3 months ago and now the dog quits immediately when it goes off...something you might tell your friends. Doesn't hurt the dogs. It's irrating to their ears. As soon as they stop barking the gizmo stops!! How simple is THAT!!!

That's all I listen to is 50 & 60's music. I'm in a time warp!! Hope you enjoyed Jane Eyre. Aaaah, the donkeys, hope you got to see and pet them...don't make yours jealous, they may kick a hole in the barn!! Sorry about your shoulder, sure is taking it's time to heal!! ...debbie

Oh, but you're a brave, kind person. I don't have the patience to dog-sit. I did that once. Suze yanked on the chain so hard for me to move faster that she almost pulled my shoulder out. No, Ms G is my speed...I much prefer her manipulative giles, LOL.

Please be patient with your shoulder. A neighbor had a similar problem. This takes a bit.
