Eventually you will see the rest of the photos from our heavenly Canada trip, until then here are a few things rattling around in my slightly crazy head:
- Why are clothing manufacturers so out of touch with reality when they design clothing for real women, leading them to make sweaters, jerseys and blouses with sleeves too narrow (and I have very long and skinny scrawny arms) and way too long??
- Why is it that when you need it most, a financial opportunity presents itself? Never fails me.
- Will we get hit with Sandy?? It has done major damage on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas where daughter Anne and husband, David, have a home. Awaiting reports. David is flying there on Sunday to assess.
- Why do public agencies, meant to protect the elderly and disabled, not return phone calls?
- How two tiny Manx kittens came along at just the right time after losing Bob this week. Freddy and Friday will be coming to live with Sam and Trish very soon. Photo below of Freddy.
- Be safe my East Coast friends and we will do the same......I get to see Teddy tomorrow morning!

OH I agree!!! Only my arms are chubby and short - I have to roll the sleeves up and sometimes it looks awful to do that. The clothes are not made as well either. Even the expensive stuff doen't have the good ole double seams, or hidden seams...Come on Manufacturers!!! Get with the program!!!...debbie
I agree about the clothes, too. I need formal and casual, not much in between because of where I spend most of my time. In formal there are the most bizarre things with very little common sense clothing in elegant styles. Casual wear is a little easier to buy if you are careful.
Lois and Debbie....it is just so hard to find nice things with at least a reasonable fit, for work. Not only is the cut really bad, but the quality of the fbrics is awful and there really is nowhere to buy nice fabric for clothing anymore. Oh well...I am thankful for LL Bean turtlenecks and fleece vests.
Back to hurricane watch.
Living in central Jersey we are suffering from hurricane-forcast-fatigue. All we have had for the last 3-4 days is hurricane fearmongering 24/7.
Anyone who is going to do anything has already done it.
I can't tell you how many times we have lived through this only to have the entire thing fizzle out.
The worst we had was last summer when our sump-pump failed during Irene due to dirty water jamming the impeller and we ended up with 3-4 inches of water in our cellar...and we found out that our insurance didn't cover failing sump pumps.
The only time we lost electricity for any length of time had nothing to do with any storm.
